Motorola Xoom

The best chance that android has at knocking the iPad from it's throne could possibly lie with Motorola's newest tablet running Android 3.0 (honeycomb). The specs for the Xoom are astounding as far as tablets go (see below), so what could possibly keep it from killing the iPad? The $800 price tag, thats what. Honestly, Motorola isn't going to gain too much ground with this piece of work with a price like that. Only those who have both a true love of Android and a huge wallet will be buying this one, unfortunately.

  4. Yeah I think Apple has been beaten at most types of portable technology pretty soundly...and now that the challengers have risen, user created content will follow and Apple will lose more ground to these guys. That said, 800 bucks is a lot - but this thing is pretty sweet, and I'm gonna get a used one ASAP because I'm cheap

  5. Very very cool. As incredible as it is though, I would wait for it to come down in price.

  7. Yeah those specs sound amazing but an $800 price tag is just not going to fly. It's going to get there though, I'm just waiting to get to a point where I realize I don't need my desktop or even a laptop anymore. Maybe in 5 years!

  10. Specs are looking pretty nice. I wonder how much of the RAM is eaten up by the system software?
